Where Did Robinson Crusoe Go With Friday On Saturday Night? - Al Jolson
It feels odd to me that this hasn't been played in over four years, and
that's after a *nine*-year gap since the previous time it aired....

I remember the title showing up in Dr Demento's contribution to "The
Book of Lists", a Top Ten of the worst song titles he could think of:

1. "I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream"

2. "They Needed A Songbird in Heaven, So God Took Caruso Away"

3. "Plant a Watermelon on My Grave, and Let the Juice Soak Through"

4. "If the Man in the Moon Were a Coon"

5. "Where Did Robinson Crusoe Go with Friday on Saturday Night?"

6. "Come After Breakfast, Bring Your Lunch, and Leave Before Suppertime"

7. "How Could You Believe I love You When You Know I've Been A Liar All
My Life"

8. "I've Got Those Wake Up Seven Thirty, Wash Your Ears They're Dirty,
Eat Your Eggs and Oatmeal Rush to School Blues"

9. "Would You Rather Be a Colonel with an Eagle on Your Shoulder or a
Private with a Chicken on Your knee?"

10. "A Woman Is Only A Woman, But a Good Cigar Is a Smoke"

Awful or not, the Doc has seen fit to share a number of these with us
over the years, but I don't believe I've ever heard #4 *anywhere*....r

I know he's played 1, 5, 7, and 8. I saw that book at a friend's Christmas party last year and read through this list and a few others. Some would have to be updated now, such as songs not in stereo.

Actually, he did play #4 on KMET 4-8-1973 during a set about prejudice, and again 8-5-1973 in a set about the moon. The prejudice set was partially inspired by a backlash against "Pancho Lopez" which had been played the week before (but that wasn't the first time he played it), and partially to go along with that month's National Lampoon issue.

The others I don't think I've heard.
