The first syndication run had ended a couple of months before, so at this time
the show was only heard on KMET. The top ten is half full of songs that were
never hits in syndication: #9, #8, #6, #4, and #1. #6 had been heard on the
last syndicated show, but the others weren't heard in syndication at the time,
and in fact only #1 and #8 ever made it to syndication and only in recent
years. Of course #9 & #8 are local items not likely to have been hits
nationally anyway. But one would think the other three would've had a good
potential to be national Funny Five hits had the syndicated show not gone on
a one-year hiatus at this time. But they seem to have been overlooked in
favor of more recent hits when syndication resumed the following year.

Still being billed with his last name at this point, then?...
Yes, from 1976-1977 he was, but normally it's spelled Hollodan. I think that's the right spelling, but on this playlist it's typed Holodin. Dr. D makes a point of saying he had previously been pronouncing the last name wrong, so I wonder if he intentionally mistyped it on this playlist as a phonetic help to himself so he'd say it right on the air.

ObSerendipity: in the teaser, but edited from the show proper, on this week's
"Says You", the host pronounces Joaquin Phoenix's first name as "Yokum", as in
Mammy Yokum from Li'l Abner...and then confesses that he had spelled it
phonetically on his notes specifically so he *wouldn't* say it wrong....r
