Greets!

After recently finding a relatively pristine version of this gem
::ahem:: on-line, and after perusal several times (enough so that my
son *and* my wife were *really* annoyed...), I wanted to ask - has
anybody determined all of the sources in this song?

What I mean is...

There's a (orig)
lady (Styx - Lady)
who'se sure (orig)
all (?)
that (orig)
glitters (?)
is (orig)
gold (?)

...etc.

Any clues on *when* it was made?

Reply to the group; perhaps this could be a community effort - I'd be
willing to recreate if I could figure it all out!

I can't tell you the exact day (or days) on which it was made, but May 17,
1984, is when the artist granted Dr. Demento permission to play it. It's
likely the tape was submitted about a month earlier.

There would probably be more response in the Facebook group. If we're going to do this, we should probably start out by just transcribing the lyrics as they are in this version, and then noting where each edit is by making a newline. The result probably belongs on dmdb.org in the lyrics section.
