"Pico And Sepulveda" has been used as the theme for over 40 years. There were a few different themes in the very early years.

"Pico And Sepulveda" was recorded by Felix Figueroa (really Freddy Martin) in 1947, but the version he uses as the theme was recorded by The Roto Rooter Good Time Christmas Band in 1974. They recorded a full version on their Vanguard LP, with the original lyrics, but the version with the "Dr. Demento" lyrics is unreleased.

On the off chance that Blaine was referring to the closing theme song,
that's 1928's "Cheerio, Cherry Lips, Cheerio" by Harold "Scrappy"
Lambert, which is available in full on (among other sources) the CD "The
Naughty 1920s: Red Hot & Risque Songs of the Jazz Age, Vol. 2"....

Both of these songs should be in the FAQ, no?...r

Yes, and I thought they were, but they aren't. The FAQ is in need of updating...
