Rick Dees and His Cast of Idiots "He Ate Too Many Jelly Donuts" Disco Duck
Don't know if this counts or not but Rick Dees(of Disco Duck fame) had a
song on the Disco Duck LP titled "He Ate Too Many Jelly Donuts". The song
was released on a 45 and is extremely hard to find. If I remember correctly
the song has Dees imitating Elvis in the studio during a recording session
but the singer keeps stopping to eat more jelly donuts and at the end he
explodes. Rumour has it that this single was released around the time of
Elvis' death but was quickly pulled off the market. Anyone know more on
this?
Thanks, Jim

I think the song was considered the B-side of "Barely White". I don't know the exact release date of the LP or 45, but Dr. D has indicated this may have been the last Elvis novelty recorded before he died. Its premise was based on the 1976 recording sessions that took place at Graceland.

Thanks for the added info Jeff. I can't find my copy of it right now but I
seem to recall that my 45 had "jelly donuts" on both sides and was NOT a promo
issue. In a Record Digest article by collector Jerry Osborne he tells that the
record company (RSO records) claims that this 45 never was released or even
existed. If I run across it in the future I'll share it with you.
